Question:

We have just moved to a new home. It has a central vacuum system and I need some help. Do these systems have to be vented to the outside? When we turn it on all we get is a lot of dust in the area of the exhaust pipe.

Answer:

If you're getting dust, there is something not connected right. I would still insist that the whole thing be vented to the outside even after that is rectified.
