Question:

I bought this cutting board. It said to oil it before use. When I did, the grain came up.Do I sand it down and then oil again, or will the grain keep coming up? I don't need this much fiber in my diet! But the bread won't move on me!

Answer:

Apparently this is not a maple cutting board. Maple is the only wood that doesn't have a food taste transfer and any wood that has raised fibre will not only ad fibre to your diet but also tanin so you might want to be careful as to what you cut on it. Beech is not a recommended wood for this.
