How do you keep snow from blowing in through round, "can style", roof vents. The house is 13 yrs. old. I have this problem and the snow forms little snow mounds on the floor in my attic. Eventually I end up with water on my insulation or floor. I had one builder suggest removing 3/4" to an 1" layer of batt insulation and gently nesting it inside the vent. This will restrict airflow to some degree.
Answer:
I'd rather just push the hoods on the tops of the vents down about a half inch so the elements can't blow in. If this means buying a pair of curved needle-nosed pliers, you'll still be money ahead of replacing them.
