Top > Basement & Crawl Space > Fan

Question:

Please advise whether or not a non-condensing dehumidifier unit to extract humidity is comparable to a dehumidifier? What do you suggest to get rid of humidity? We live in central Ontario.

Answer:

A dehumidifier works to bring your atmospheric humidity down to about 60%. There are systems on the market that will bring it down to where you want it: 35 to 50%. Actually, keeping a window open at one end of the basement and turning a fan against the opposite wall to create the most turbulence possible will do as well as any system on the market.
