Question:

Not enough that we have deer destroying everything at the cottage! We have just returned to the city only to find a racoon digging up our back lawn. I understand we can get a trap from the Humance Society should there be anything left of our lawn. My question is: what if we put in a 4-5' chicken wire fence all around the hedge, would that keep him out? Would hate to spend all the money tomorrow to find out that this would not work at all. Is this a solution.

Answer:

About the most detrous animal in the jungle is the raccoon so don't be surprised if they crawl right up that fence and still go after whatever they're eating there. In fact, until you get rid of what they're eating, they and skunks (they must be in some way related) will keep coming back.
