Question:

I bought a used mattress for my daughter. The previous owner was a smoker and the smell of cigarette is still in the mattress. I tried to leave it outside on the backporch but no success. I tried spray but no success.
What would you recommend to get rid of the smell in the mattress?

Answer:

I'm afraid you now own the mattress smell and all. The material mattresses are made of is very absorbent and with that kind of thickness, whatever it absorbs in the way of odours and stains is pretty much there to stay.
