Question:

We have decorated our family room with rustic decor; however the set-in brass/glass door fireplace screen stands out like a sore thumb. We bought the house w/ it already installed, but would like to remove it and replace w/ a rustic looking screen.

Answer:

It removes quite easily although seldom without being damaged and then you can install the new one. You may have to do bits of repair to the fireplace face after you're done but not enough to justify leaving it as is.
