Question:

I live in a semi-detached house. Since my new neighbours moved in next door, I have noticed the smell of cigarette smoke in my house, particularly in the back of the house, in the basement, under the basement stairwell, and on the main floor, also at the back of the house. I have spoken to them and they advised that they smoke in the basement bedroom at the back of the house, and in the bathroom there. I thought that the firewall would prevent any passage of air between the residences. It seems to be getting worse lately.

Answer:

And it will keep getting worse as time goes on because tobabo smoke permeates very thoroughly and in most cases its thee to stay for a long time. You might get in touch with someone who does auto body work. These folks seem to be able to do away with most odours.
