We are replacing patio stones with concrete around an in ground pool that has a steel lining. How much granular A should the base depth be? Would $12 a sqaure foot for 400 square feet be reasonable?

For these types of alterations you'll have to refer to the manufacturer of the pool for precise instructions not only on how much you need but also on how to go about it and what precautions you'll be needing to take.
