I am replacing an existing 2 hinge interior door with a 3 hinge glass door. I used the locations of the existing 2 hinges and installed the 3 rd hinge in the middle of the jamb. However, the door will not close - it binds on the hinge side when closed partway. What is the proper way to install a 3 hinge door so that all 3 hinges lie in the same plane?
Answer:
You do this by using the same sized hinges all set to the same depth and backset.
