I have a stone building with woodframe windows. I'd like to attach the shutters by hinges to the wood frame. How do I hold the shutter open so that it doesn't flap in the wind?
Answer:
Spring loaded hinges might do for that but if the window is not at all in a wind-protected area you may have to drill the mortar line between the stones and install lead of wooden lags for eye-screws so you have something to tie them off too.
