Unheated cottage floor what is recommended for flooring is it vinyl, stick tile, laminate etc. and what is the best way of putting this down. We now only have plywood on the floor.

Any of the above will do but you have to install each according to the manufacturer's instructions. Most of them vary just a little bit but if you follow them to the letter, all are good.
