Purchased a log cabin last year. Hand made with love many years ago. Kitchen in need of change----doing minor addition. All pine flooring with exception of kitchen. When wall between kitchen and living room taken down it was apparent that the ply wood covering the kitchen was over some other flooring. Removed ply wood. Removed two layers of tile and am left with thick black glue? over original pine. Help! Any suggestions for removal to restore the pine.
Answer:
Getting the floor professionally sanded might do something for you. I do not suggest floor sanding as a DIY project because that machine eats a lot of wood very quickly. In the hands of an inexperienced operator, it may mean getting a new floor.
