My garage (attached to house)floor is 25 years old and corroding at the opening, high spot in the middle and slopes at the right side causing winter water accumulation which needs to be swept out frequently. I am considering two options based on cost: replacing the complete garage floor with new concret or covering the existing floor with tile which would require a fair amount of levelling. Can you lay the tile over the existing poorly sloped floor which would also require cutting the front 3 feet or so to obtain the proper draining slope to zero at the opening and lined up with the asphalt laneway. I assume the floor should not shift or crack anymore after 25 years.
Answer:
I'd try the second option and if it doesn't work, you haven't wasted a lot of time and money to go with the first.
In the interests of retaining credibility and in fairness to all, I cannot recommend prices, people nor companies for various projects.
