Question:

Is there a certain percentage on a scale that is allowable for moisture in the basement,I'm just wondering if having the basement so dry that it may be causing the floor to dry out and cause my squeaking

Answer:

The average basement will never get to that during the summer and fall but in the winter it might. If you have anything over 30% atmospheric humidity shouldn't have to worry about it.
