Question:

We just installed a ceramic floor in our bathroom, hall, kitchen, and sunroom. The ceramic is installed over sheets of fiber rock. The floor installed in the sunroom is over a crawl space that does not have heat underneath. We did not install electric heat in the floor under the tiles due to the cost. We considered that we might be able to make the area more comfortable in winter by using throw rugs and having the forced air registers blow heat across the floor. Are there any suggestions that you could make to keep the floor warm in the winter? The crawl space underneath is insulated.

Answer:

You've done about all you can and provided its not the ceiling of the crawl space that is insulated, you probably won't get more comfort out of the floor until you introduce some form of heat for the whole crawl space.
