Question:

This may be simple or I am just not to smart when it comes to electricity? In replacing a light fixture i have connected the black to black, white to white and the grounded wire that came with the fixture to the green screw on the mounting bracket....there is a green wire that comes from the box...where is this grounded to... the green screw as well?

Answer:

You're telling me that the cable in the box is stranded wire instead of the regular rigid product. Firstly, that is neither legal nor safe and secondly, I would insist on tracing it back to source before hooking anything to it.
