Recently the lights in my house have started to flicker. The light intensity changes in a random pattern. Most often it does this when the light is first turned on. After a time it may stop. I've checked the fuse box. The problem is getting worse by the day on the main floor. The house is approx. 25 years old, a new fuse box was installed (breakers) approx. 1 year ago. The problem started about 2 months ago. Any insight into the problem would be appreciated.
Answer:
I think you have aluminum wiring and that should be checked as soon as possible because this is one of the dangers with it. The only other thing I can think of is that somewhere in the first junction boxes following the main panel, there are loose joints in each of these circuits.
