Question:

Whenever we use water anywhere in the house, we hear an extra noise in the plumbing. We've already tried 2 solutions you gave us, ( more supports for the pipes and trying to locate a loose washer) but nothing seems to help. It might be a defective water meter but before we change that, can you tell us how to get rid of debris in the pipes. I've heard you tell how to do it on the radio a long time ago but am not sure how to do it now that I need it.

Answer:

The easiest way is to open the offending line upstream from the debris and turn on the pressure for a second or so. Don't forget to have buckets or sink or some such because a lot of water comes out of there real fast.
