Question:

I have a question about the my laundry faucet. There's a polyethylene tube running from the back of laundry faucet to the main drain pipe. What is the purpose of this tube? Can I not use it if I replace the faucet?

Answer:

No, that tube is there to constantly replace water in the drain trap. This keeps it from stagnating and forming all kinds of mold. There should really be no way of using it for anything but what its there for.

In the interests of retaining credibility and in fairness to all, I cannot recommend prices, people nor companies for various projects.

Remember, even if you don’t do your own work around the house have to hire someone, you put yourself at a great advantage when you can intelligently discuss a project with the various trades people.
