Question:

Hi Tony, I put in a rock pool, waterfall, fire place and bar-b-que only to come up short financially to complete my patio cover. That being said, I would like to paint the existing one. It's in great structual shape, but I don't know if I need to strip off the old paint, prime and then paint or if I can just paint over the old paint. Also, what type of paint should I use outdoors? We're in Southern California. Thanks so much for your advice - Kristin

Answer:

Hello Kristin If the existing paint finish is sound and not peeling, recommend painting over with an existing paint or stain. Detertmine what is there now and use the same product.
