We've lived here 19 years and now are thinking about paving the driveway. Getting estimates, but they are all so different. Some say start from scratch, remove everything there, others say scrape top inches replace with crushed stone and pave. How do we decide what to do? thx, R.

Hi, Thanks for writing. The best way to determine what you have to do is: A test hole has to be dug to see how much of a base you have. If there is less than a 12 inch base, then it is recommended to excavate 12 inches. If you do have a 12 inch base, you do not have to start from scratch. Thanks for your question.
